Cow Side of our Moderators
Percentage cattle (25% to 50%)—Aberdeen genetics on at least one side of thepedigree, and must be registered with the American Aberdeen Association. Eitherthe sire or dam (or both) of a Moderator Plus® must be registered with the AmericanAberdeen Association. Moderator Plus shall be added to registration papers forthese animals. We are excited about the cow side of our moderator program. Big Red is a commercial red angus cow with genetics that run back to the very first heifer bought as a 4-H project for Kelsey. She is HUGE every bit 1600 lbs. Proof the Aberdeen genetics can down size your herd making them very feed effecient in one breeding cycle. Her moderator calves average 800lb cows and 1000lb finished steers.
The white face Moderator plus is a heifer we saved out of the red angus. We showed her at the National Western in 2020 and our county fair. We are excited for her first calf spring 2021.
Our daughters have started their own venture each purchasing extremely high quality registered mini hereford heifers. Our oldest showed Libby at the National Western Stock Show in 2020 the judge said she was hands down the best heifer in the class. She went on to help Peyton win Reserve Grand Champion Showmanship at our county fair.
Our middle daughter is the proud owner of Sugar Baby. This little heifer is very complete and made from the ground up. She is extremely sound. She only showed her at the county fair but won her class against full size breeds. She was in the Grand drive placing 3rd over all. She went on to help Paige win Reserve Grand Champion showmanship.
Both these heifers have the pedigree to back their looks and the girls are over the moon excited about the Calves they are producing.
